GIG IN A DAY
A High-Energy Introduction to Band Life
One Day. One Song. One Unforgettable Experience.
Gig In A Day is a fast-paced, hands-on music workshop designed to give students a powerful taste of what The Band Project is all about. It’s the perfect way to introduce your school community—students, parents, and staff—to the thrill of playing in a band.
Each band takes part in a 60-minute session, where they:
- Learn a classic Rock or Pop song
- Develop essential band skills like timing, dynamics, and communication
- Explore what makes a successful live performance
The day ends with a live performance for friends, family, and staff—giving students the buzz of being on stage and showing what they’ve achieved in just a few hours.
Designed for All Ages and Instruments
- Bands are kept small (4–6 students) for maximum engagement
- Open to all instruments and experience levels
- Suitable for Years 4 to 13

Gig In A Day workshops give students a fast, focused taste of what it’s like to play in a real band and to perform live.
In just one day, they build confidence, sharpen teamwork, and discover the thrill of making music together. It’s inclusive, high-energy, and ends with a live gig for friends, staff, and parents. For schools this is an ideal taster ahead of launching our weekly Band Project sessions.
