The Band Project Juniors is the little sibling of the Band Project. It offers aspiring young musicians aged 4 – 7 a chance to discover and explore the core band instruments. The Band Project Juniors sessions use a mix of song based learning, basic music theory, rhythm, music games and free play to teach and inspire our students about playing music.

Each term is 10 weeks long with weekly 1 hour sessions. The younger students and complete beginners spend 2 weeks exploring each of the core instruments, (drums/percussion, guitar/bass/ukulele, keyboards and singing). In weeks 9 and 10 the focus moves to group performance. This could take the form of singing a song together or working on a drum and percussion piece, it’s different group by group and term by term and lead by each group.

For slightly older children, typically but not exclusively 7 heading towards 8, who already have started lessons and have maybe chosen their instrument(s) we work with them as a band giving an exciting first taste of learning, playing and rehearsing before performing at a Band Project gig in a real venue for friends and family.

Every session is delivered by an experienced member of our team of fully trained and DBS checked tutors. The relaxed and encouraging atmosphere in a Band Project session helps to builds confidence, self expression, mutual and self respect, teamwork and is a great way to make new friends.

The Band Project Juniors is a stepping stone to joining our older sessions for 8 – 18 year olds laying foundations
